The throats

The Gorges du Verdon form the largest canyon in Europe, this site has been protected and classified as a “Verdon Regional Natural Park” since 1997. The Verdon Park offers visitors from all over the world the opportunity to discover a preserved natural area, splendid and grandiose.

Hiking

On the left bank of the verdon, runs the Corniche Sublime (RN 71) with multiple belvederes and viewpoints offering an exceptional panorama. At the Cavaliers belvedere is the start of the GR99, leading to the bottom of the Verdon gorges. This sporty hike leads to the river and allows you to cross the Verdon via the Estélié footbridge and join the Blanc-Martel trail on the right bank; or to go to the Imbut, the narrowest passage in the gorges, a term borrowed from Provençal meaning "funnel".
